The trial version of popSmarts is not limited by time, but will
expire after 120 uses (each blocked popup counts as one use).
After the trial uses run out, popSmarts will partially disable itself.
Approximately 1/3 of attempted popups will be blocked, and approximately
1/3 will open normally. The remaining third will be blocked with
a nagware notice reminding you to register your copy of popSmarts.

BHODemon

Other popup killers use a technology known as BHO
to integrate with Internet Explorer. BHOs, or Browser
Helper Objects, will automatically launch
themselves whenever a window of Internet Explorer opens.
Windows doesn't tell you if you have any BHOs installed,
and they can run completely invisibly without a user
interface! This makes BHOs a very popular tool for adware
creators, and can even be a way to run a virus on your
computer! BHOs can be turned off with the Internet Explorer
security option to disable all 3rd-party software. Birnam
Labs recommends disabling BHOs!
If you don't want to turn off all BHOs (some of them
can actually be useful), please download and run BHODemon.
BHODemon will show you what BHOs you have and gives you
the option to disable them or to remove them from your
system.
